This five-day training camp on peasant agroecology brings together some fifty leaders and technical agents from rural women's associations belonging to the movement.

It was officially launched by Idy Gomel Ba, deputy sub-prefect of Niaguis, at the Karonghère Wati Nianing center in the eponymous commune.

"The aim of this training is to enable producers to produce healthy, nutritious food," explained Mariama Sonko, President of the Pan-African Rural Women's Movement - We are the solution.

She explains that it has been observed today that "with products from conventional or chemical agriculture, there are almost no nutrients". "And in relation to this production, there is a lot of destruction of the environment, namely the land and seeds inherited from our ancestors", Ms. Sonko also pointed out.

"Today, our movement is promoting agroecological practices that value farmers' seeds. And we use organic fertilizers and bio-protectors for these farmers' seeds. These organic seeds enable us to boost soil fertility and production yields", she said.

She believes that bio-producers make it possible "not only to have a good production, but also a quality production where we have all the nutrients necessary for a good diet".
